A whole-person
approach to care.
"The goal isn't to treat illness. It's to know the person well enough to help them stay healthy in the first place."
Dr. Ajaz Omer Khan is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and continues to meet the requirements of his specialty medical board for ongoing learning and assessment — a commitment to lifelong growth and self-evaluation that keeps his practice at the leading edge.
At AymanCare, we focus on your whole well-being, using data and technology to coordinate services and enhance care. But at its best, medicine is still deeply human — and that's the foundation we build every visit on.
Our
clinic.
At AymanCare Primary & Urgent Care, patients find what they need to protect and support their health — whether that's urgent care, pediatric care, or a partner to join them on their health journey. As a walk-in clinic and primary care provider, Dr. Khan and his team of experienced, qualified healthcare providers are dedicated to serving the communities of Dallas, Mesquite, North Richland Hills, and Valley Ranch.
AymanCare blends primary care with services designed to support the health of entire families at a moment's notice. The team is seasoned at addressing medical emergencies like injuries and sudden illnesses. At the same time, their expertise in taking care of kids ensures that all pediatric patients feel comfortable and relaxed.
Whether patients are looking for medical treatment for a pressing condition — like flu symptoms or strep throat — or are looking for a dedicated team of primary caregivers, AymanCare delivers. We offer a range of healthcare services designed to help patients lead their healthiest, most balanced lives, including weight loss programs, allergy testing, and treatment.
Three principles shape
every patient visit.
The way we practice medicine isn't about technology or trends. It's about three commitments we keep, every day.
Whole-person care
We don't just treat symptoms. We use data and technology to coordinate services and see the whole picture — so every recommendation fits the person in front of us.
Accessible & affordable
We accept all major insurance providers and are committed to easy, transparent billing. Walk-ins welcome. Same-day appointments available.
Lifelong learning
Board certification is the start, not the end. Dr. Khan commits to ongoing assessment and continuous improvement — so your care reflects current best practice.
A whole team, committed
to your family.
AymanCare isn't built on one physician — it's built on a team. Nurses, medical assistants, and care coordinators who know your face, remember your family, and make every visit feel personal.
Our staff is bilingual and serves a diverse community — because great care starts with being understood. Across all four clinics, the same people-first standard follows you wherever you go.

Primary
care.
A long-term partner in your family's health. Annual physicals, preventive screenings, and the steady, considered care that keeps small concerns from becoming big ones.
Dedicated primary care in Dallas.
A primary care provider is a healthcare professional that delivers ongoing healthcare services. Aside from diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, a primary care physician is often the first point of contact when pursuing healthcare options — and a steady partner through every stage of life.
What makes AymanCare different.
At AymanCare, your visits with Dr. Khan aren't rushed. We believe great care requires time — time to listen, time to ask questions, time to coordinate the right referrals. Our team uses data and technology to coordinate services so that when you come back, we already know you.
"The best primary care visit is the one that leaves you feeling heard, clear on next steps, and confident in who's walking the road with you."
Who we see.
We see patients of all ages — from pediatric check-ups to senior wellness exams, from newborn visits to Medicare-covered preventive care. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, the goal is the same: the best possible health outcome for the person in front of us.

Walk-in
urgent care.
Same-day care for the unexpected. Minor injuries, acute illness, rapid testing — when you need a clinician now, not next week.
Walk-in care, when life won't wait.
Life rarely sticks to a schedule. That's why AymanCare is set up to handle the unexpected — walk in for a sore throat, an ankle you rolled on the stairs, or the moment you realize you really do need to see someone today.
Faster than the ER.
Most urgent care visits cost a fraction of an emergency room visit and are dramatically faster. For non-life-threatening conditions, AymanCare walk-in is the right first stop — board-certified care, standard clinic pricing, and a team who will refer you up if you need it.
"Walk-in care should feel like running into your doctor — not navigating a hospital."
COVID-19 testing & treatment.
We offer rapid and PCR COVID-19 testing on-site at all four locations. If you test positive, we can provide same-visit treatment guidance, prescribe antivirals where appropriate, and help you plan the next few days with your family in mind.

Pediatric
care.
Personalized, child-centered care at every stage of growing up. From newborn well-baby visits to teen health — we meet every child where they are.
Care that listens.
Kids aren't small adults. Their bodies, minds, and medical needs are uniquely their own — and so is the way they communicate when something feels off. At AymanCare, we take the time to make every child feel comfortable before we ever reach for the stethoscope.
Well visits & preventive care.
From the first newborn visit to every back-to-school check-up, we track growth, development, immunizations, and milestones — catching issues early and answering the questions every parent has but doesn't always know how to ask.
"Every child deserves a clinic that feels safe. Our job is to make that the default, not the exception."
When they're sick.
Same-day appointments and walk-ins are always available for sick kids. Whether it's a stubborn cough, a stomach bug, or an ear infection keeping them up at night, we get them seen, diagnosed, and on the mend.

Flu symptoms &
treatment.
Board-certified diagnosis and treatment for influenza and flu-like illness — so you can get the right care, feel better faster, and protect the people around you.
More than just a cold.
Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by flu viruses — and it can knock out even healthy adults for a week or more. At AymanCare, our board-certified physicians work closely with nurse practitioners to diagnose and treat the flu quickly and thoroughly.
Rapid testing & diagnosis.
We offer rapid flu testing with results in as little as 15 minutes. For many patients, same-visit diagnosis means same-visit treatment — including antivirals like Tamiflu when appropriate and clinically indicated.
"The flu isn't just an inconvenience. For the right patients, early diagnosis and treatment can change the course of the whole illness."
Recovery support.
Beyond medication, we help you plan: what to eat, when to call us if things worsen, and how to protect your family while you recover. For high-risk patients — young children, seniors, pregnancy, or compromised immune systems — we follow up closely.

Allergy
treatment.
Pollen, dust, mold, food, or stings — we test, diagnose, and build treatment plans that actually last, so your year isn't defined by symptoms.
Finding the cause.
Allergy symptoms can mimic many other conditions — and treating a symptom without understanding the trigger often fails. At AymanCare, we examine, test, and identify what's actually causing your reactions, whether it's seasonal pollen, your office air, a pet you love, or something in your diet.
Treatment that lasts.
Once we know the trigger, we build a plan — medication strategy, environmental changes, immunotherapy referrals when appropriate. The goal is lasting relief, not a lifetime of antihistamine roulette.
"Allergies don't have to be something you live around. The right plan can change your whole season."
For kids too.
Allergies often show up differently in children — chronic congestion that looks like a cold, eczema that won't quit, or stomach issues after certain foods. We work with parents to identify triggers early, when treatment is most effective.

Weight
loss.
Medically supervised weight loss programs focused on sustainable health — building the habits, physiology, and support system that make real change last.
More than a number.
Weight loss isn't just about a scale. It's about how you feel in your body, your energy, your sleep, your mood, and your long-term risk for conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and joint problems. Our program treats weight as one vital sign among many.
What the program looks like.
We start with a full health assessment — labs, history, lifestyle — and build a plan from there. That might include nutrition strategy, activity planning, medication support where appropriate, and ongoing check-ins so we can adjust the plan as your body changes.
"The best weight loss plan is the one you can actually live with for the rest of your life."
Built to last.
We're not interested in quick fixes that leave you back where you started in six months. The goal is a sustainable approach that builds your body's health and improves your habits — so you can enjoy life, not just fit into a number.

COVID-19
testing.
Rapid antigen and PCR testing available at all four AymanCare locations. Walk in or book ahead — results delivered quickly, with clinical follow-up if needed.
Two tests. One team.
We offer both rapid antigen and PCR molecular testing for COVID-19 at all four AymanCare locations. Whether you need a quick answer for peace of mind or a lab-verified result for travel or work, we have you covered — with results you can trust and a team that explains what they mean.
Rapid antigen testing.
Our rapid antigen test delivers results in 15–20 minutes using a simple nasal swab. It's ideal for symptomatic patients who need quick confirmation, families checking before gatherings, and employees screening before returning to work. If the result is positive, we can begin treatment guidance during the same visit.
"A fast result matters most when it changes what you do next. That's why we pair every positive rapid test with a same-visit care plan."
PCR molecular testing.
For situations that require gold-standard accuracy — international travel, employer mandates, surgical clearance — we offer PCR testing processed through a certified lab. Results are typically available within 24–48 hours, and we provide the documentation format most airlines and employers require.
Positive result? We're here.
A positive test doesn't have to mean navigating the next steps alone. Our physicians provide same-visit guidance on isolation protocols, antiviral medications like Paxlovid when clinically appropriate, symptom management, and monitoring plans — especially for patients who are older, immunocompromised, or pregnant.

No insurance? No problem.
Transparent self-pay rates · HSA/FSA accepted · Employer-sponsored plans · Workers' compensation

How billing works at AymanCare.
We believe healthcare billing shouldn't be confusing. Here's how it works: you check in, we verify your insurance on the spot, you pay any copay at the time of service, and we handle the rest with your insurance company directly. If there's a remaining balance after your plan processes the claim, we'll send a clear, itemized statement.
Insurance verification.
Before your visit, our front desk can verify your insurance benefits so you know what to expect. We check your copay amount, deductible status, and whether any referrals are needed. If you'd like us to verify ahead of time, call us with your insurance details and we'll do the legwork before you arrive.
"We want you thinking about your health at your visit, not your bill. That's why we verify everything upfront."
Self-pay & uninsured patients.
No insurance? We offer transparent, competitive self-pay rates for all of our services. We accept cash, credit cards, HSA/FSA accounts, and can set up payment plans for larger balances. Our goal is to make sure cost never stands between you and the care you need.
Frequently asked questions.
Do I need a referral?
Most insurance plans do not require a referral for primary care or urgent care visits. If your plan is an HMO that requires referrals for specialist visits, we can help coordinate that during your appointment.
What if my insurance isn't listed?
We work with many plans beyond those listed above. Call your nearest clinic and we'll check your specific plan. We're continually adding new insurance partnerships.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. We accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards for copays, deductibles, and self-pay visits.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. If you have a balance after insurance processing, we can arrange a payment plan that works for your budget. Just speak with our front desk team.

American
Heart Month.
Heart disease is the leading cause of mortality in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and nationwide. AymanCare's board-certified physicians share five practical steps to protect your cardiovascular health — available at our four DFW clinics year-round.
Exercise regularly
Aim for 3–4 workout sessions per week. Vary your activities — walking, swimming, cycling, or strength training — to keep things interesting and work different muscle groups. Even 30 minutes of moderate activity makes a meaningful difference for your heart.
Avoid smoking and excessive drinking
Both smoking and heavy alcohol consumption have detrimental effects on cardiovascular health. Smoking damages blood vessels and raises blood pressure, while excessive drinking can weaken the heart muscle over time. If you need support quitting, our team can help.
Eat a heart-healthy diet
Incorporate foods rich in antioxidants and healthy fats — avocados, berries, leafy greens, nuts, and fatty fish. Reduce processed foods, excess sodium, and saturated fats. Small, consistent dietary changes compound into significant long-term benefits for your heart.
Manage stress proactively
Chronic stress raises cortisol and blood pressure — both risk factors for heart disease. Build in daily moments of rest: a short walk, meditation, or simply planning your week ahead to reduce overwhelm. What you do every day matters more than what you do occasionally.
Get regular check-ups
Many cardiovascular risk factors — high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and elevated blood sugar — have no obvious symptoms. An annual wellness exam is the most reliable way to catch and address these risks early, before they become serious.
Book a heart health check-up.
An annual physical at AymanCare includes blood pressure, cholesterol, and cardiovascular risk screening. Same-day appointments often available.
Why having a primary care
physician matters.
For families across Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Irving, having a dedicated primary care physician — not just a walk-in clinic — is one of the most important healthcare decisions you can make.
Your doctor knows your history
A primary care physician builds a complete picture of you over time — your medications, family history, chronic conditions, and past lab work. When a new symptom appears, that context matters enormously. A walk-in clinic seeing you for the first time has none of it. At AymanCare's primary care clinics in Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch, continuity of care is built into every patient relationship — not an afterthought.
Preventive care catches problems early
Many of the most serious conditions — high blood pressure, diabetes, elevated cholesterol, and certain cancers — have no obvious symptoms in their early stages. Your primary care doctor in Dallas schedules the screenings that catch these before they become harder to treat. That annual physical isn't a formality; it's your best early-warning system. AymanCare accepts Medicare, Tricare, and most major insurance plans at all four Dallas-area locations.
Specialist coordination without the gaps
If you need a cardiologist, dermatologist, or any specialist in the DFW area, your primary care physician connects the dots. Without that central coordinator, you end up with multiple providers who don't communicate — duplicate tests, conflicting prescriptions, and no one accountable for the full picture. Dr. Khan coordinates referrals and specialist follow-up for patients across East Dallas, the Mid-Cities, Mesquite, and Irving.
Chronic conditions need a long-term partner
Managing diabetes, hypertension, asthma, or thyroid disease isn't a one-visit fix. It requires regular monitoring, medication adjustments, and a physician who notices when trends are moving in the wrong direction. AymanCare's board-certified family medicine physicians serve patients with chronic conditions across all four Dallas-Fort Worth locations, with same-day appointments often available.
It saves money in the long run
Patients with a regular primary care physician visit the emergency room less often, get diagnosed earlier, and have better-managed chronic conditions. For Dallas-area families, having an established relationship with a board-certified physician at AymanCare means fewer costly ER visits and better long-term health outcomes. The annual physical is far less expensive than the emergency room visit it helps prevent.

What an annual physical
actually checks.
A walkthrough of every screening AymanCare performs during your yearly wellness visit in Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch — and why each one matters more than you might think.
Blood pressure and cardiovascular health
High blood pressure affects 1 in 3 adults in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and causes no obvious symptoms — which is why it's called the silent killer. At every AymanCare visit we check it, but your annual physical is also the time to review your resting heart rate, listen to your heart and lungs, and assess your overall cardiovascular risk. For patients in East Dallas, Mid-Cities, Mesquite, and Irving, knowing your numbers is the first step toward protecting your long-term heart health.
Blood work — cholesterol, glucose, and more
A comprehensive metabolic panel reveals what no exam can see: cholesterol levels, blood glucose, kidney function, liver enzymes, and thyroid levels. Our on-site labs at all four Dallas-area AymanCare clinics process most routine bloodwork quickly. These numbers tell us if you're trending toward diabetes, heart disease, or thyroid dysfunction — conditions far easier to reverse early than to treat late.
Cancer screenings by age and risk
Depending on your age, sex, and family history, your annual physical at AymanCare triggers the right cancer screenings: colorectal screening starting at 45, breast cancer and cervical cancer screenings, lung cancer screening for smokers, and skin and prostate assessments. We serve patients across Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch and help you understand exactly which screenings apply to you and when.
Immunizations and booster review
Vaccines aren't just for children. Dallas-area adults need boosters for tetanus, shingles, pneumonia, flu, and COVID-19. At your AymanCare annual physical in Dallas TX or any of our DFW locations, we review your immunization record and make sure you're protected — especially important if you're over 50, immunocompromised, or caring for young children or elderly family members.
Mental health and lifestyle conversation
Your annual physical in Dallas isn't just labs and vitals. Our board-certified physicians take time to discuss sleep quality, stress levels, physical activity, diet, and mental health. Depression and anxiety screening are part of a complete wellness exam at AymanCare. These conversations often uncover the most important adjustments — ones no blood panel can detect. This level of care is available at every one of our four DFW locations.
Annual physicals in Dallas, TX — often at no cost.
Most insurance plans cover annual wellness exams at no cost to you. AymanCare accepts Medicare, Tricare, Aetna, BlueCross, Cigna, UnitedHealth, Humana, and more. Serving Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch (Irving).
Cold, flu,
or COVID?
The symptoms overlap more than you'd think. At AymanCare's walk-in clinics across Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch, here's how we tell them apart — and when you should come in for testing.
The common cold — gradual and mostly nasal
Colds come on slowly, over one to three days. Symptoms are concentrated above the neck: runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, mild cough, and occasionally a low-grade fever. Fatigue is mild. Most colds resolve on their own in 7–10 days. Dallas winters and spring season shifts are common triggers for upper respiratory illness across the DFW area — the key distinguisher is that you probably still feel like yourself, just congested.
Influenza — fast onset, full-body symptoms
The flu hits hard and fast — patients often describe knowing the exact hour they got sick. Hallmarks are high fever (above 101°F), significant muscle aches, chills, headache, and deep fatigue. Respiratory symptoms appear, but the body-wide misery is what distinguishes flu from a cold. Tamiflu is most effective when started within 48 hours of symptom onset — which is why same-day flu testing at our Dallas, NRH, Mesquite, and Irving urgent care locations matters.
COVID-19 — a varied presentation
COVID can look like a cold, like the flu, or like neither. Fever, cough, and fatigue are common, but the distinguishing markers were loss of taste and smell, unusual fatigue, and shortness of breath disproportionate to other symptoms. Current strains tend to present more like a mild respiratory illness. AymanCare offers rapid COVID-19 testing in Dallas TX and at all three other DFW locations — testing is the only way to confirm and protect the people around you.
When to get tested in Dallas
If you have fever plus respiratory symptoms, testing gives you an answer that changes your treatment options. A positive flu test means antivirals can help — but only if started early. AymanCare provides rapid flu and COVID-19 testing with same-day results at all four Dallas-area clinics: N Buckner Blvd in Dallas, North Richland Hills, I-30 E in Mesquite, and Valley Ranch in Irving. No appointment needed for walk-in testing.
When to come in rather than wait
Most viral illnesses resolve without intervention. But come in to your nearest AymanCare urgent care clinic in the Dallas–Fort Worth area if you have: a fever above 103°F, difficulty breathing or chest tightness, symptoms that improve then suddenly worsen, severe dehydration, or any symptoms in a child under 3 months. These signs warrant evaluation, not watchful waiting at home.
Flu and COVID-19 testing in Dallas — walk-ins welcome.
Same-day rapid testing at all four AymanCare locations: Dallas (N Buckner Blvd), North Richland Hills, Mesquite (I-30 E), and Valley Ranch (Irving). Results in minutes. Prescriptions on the spot if indicated.
Dallas allergy season,
explained.
Cedar, ragweed, and oak affect millions across Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Irving every year. Here's what triggers what — and the treatments that actually provide lasting relief in North Texas.
The DFW allergy calendar
Dallas–Fort Worth is one of the most challenging metropolitan areas in the country for allergy sufferers — and the reason is year-round exposure. Mountain cedar dominates December through March and is among the most potent allergens in North America. Oak and elm follow in spring across North Texas. Grass pollen peaks in late spring through summer. Ragweed closes out the year from August through November in Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, Irving, and surrounding communities. If it feels like allergy season never ends in DFW, that's because it essentially doesn't.
Allergies vs. a cold — how to tell them apart
Both cause runny nose, sneezing, and congestion — but the pattern differs. Allergies produce clear, watery discharge and itchy eyes, nose, or throat. They don't cause fever. They persist as long as you're exposed to the trigger — a key indicator during high-cedar or high-ragweed days in Dallas TX. Colds come with thicker mucus, often progress to a sore throat or low-grade fever, and resolve within 10 days. If your symptoms recur every spring or fall in the DFW area, you're almost certainly dealing with seasonal allergies.
Allergy testing in Dallas — know your triggers
Over-the-counter antihistamines treat symptoms without ever identifying what's causing them. AymanCare offers allergy testing at our Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch clinics to tell us exactly which North Texas pollens, molds, or other allergens are driving your reactions. With that information, treatment can be precisely targeted — rather than a daily antihistamine that dulls your symptoms and sometimes your focus.
Medications that work for Dallas allergies
For mild to moderate seasonal allergies in the Dallas area: non-drowsy antihistamines (cetirizine, loratadine, fexofenadine) are the first line. Nasal corticosteroid sprays are highly effective for congestion and should be started two weeks before your known trigger season — typically late November for cedar season in North Texas. Decongestants help short-term but shouldn't be used daily. For severe or persistent DFW allergy symptoms, our physicians may recommend combination therapy or a specialist referral.
Immunotherapy — the long-term solution for DFW
Allergy shots gradually desensitize your immune system to specific North Texas allergens over 3–5 years. It's the only treatment that addresses the underlying cause rather than masking symptoms — and results can be permanent. This is particularly worthwhile for Dallas-area patients with severe cedar, ragweed, or oak reactions, asthma triggered by allergies, or those who don't respond well to medications. AymanCare provides allergy treatment plans across all four DFW locations.
Stop managing symptoms.
Treat the cause.
AymanCare offers allergy testing and personalized treatment plans at all four Dallas-area clinics — Dallas (N Buckner Blvd), North Richland Hills, Mesquite (I-30 E), and Valley Ranch in Irving. Don't just survive North Texas allergy season — get ahead of it.
When to bring
your child in.
A parent-friendly guide from AymanCare's pediatric team in Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch — covering the symptoms that need a same-day visit and the ones that can safely wait.
Fever — the thresholds that matter
Fever itself isn't dangerous — it's the immune system doing its job. But the threshold depends on age: any fever in a baby under 3 months warrants immediate evaluation. In children 3–6 months, a fever over 102°F needs same-day attention. In older children, a fever over 104°F or one that persists more than three days should be seen by a Dallas-area pediatrician or urgent care physician. AymanCare provides pediatric walk-in care with no appointment needed at all four DFW locations.
Breathing — the signs to watch for
Noisy breathing, rapid breathing, flaring nostrils, or visible pulling of the skin between the ribs with each breath are signs of respiratory distress. Croup causes a distinctive barking cough most common in toddlers at night — particularly during Dallas's winter and early spring season changes. Wheezing can indicate asthma or bronchiolitis. If your child is working hard to breathe, bring them in to AymanCare's pediatric urgent care in Dallas, NRH, Mesquite, or Valley Ranch right away.
Ear pain, sore throat, and eye discharge
Ear pain in a young child who is tugging at their ear and running a fever is likely an ear infection and should be seen same-day — untreated ear infections can cause hearing complications. A sore throat with white patches or severe difficulty swallowing may be strep and needs a rapid test. AymanCare performs rapid strep tests at all four Dallas-area clinics. Yellow or green eye discharge that crusts overnight is likely bacterial conjunctivitis and needs prescription eye drops.
Rashes — which to watch and which to treat
Most rashes in children are viral and resolve without treatment. The ones that need urgent evaluation at a Dallas-area pediatric clinic: a rash that doesn't fade when pressed (petechiae), hives with swelling of the face or lips, a rash that spreads rapidly, or any rash in a child who also has a high fever. Eczema flares, diaper rash, and heat rash — common in Dallas summers — can typically wait for a scheduled visit.
Behavioral changes that signal illness
Young children can't always describe what hurts. Watch for: a child who is unusually difficult to wake, inconsolably crying for more than two hours, refusing all fluids, or showing no interest in their surroundings. Dallas parents in East Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and the Las Colinas–Irving area can walk into any AymanCare location with their child — no appointment needed. We'd rather see your child and send you home reassured than have you wait it out alone.

The truth about
sustainable weight loss.
Why fad diets fail — and what a physician-supervised medical weight loss program in Dallas, TX actually looks like at AymanCare's four DFW locations.
Why fad diets fail
Extremely low-calorie diets trigger metabolic adaptation — your body responds to perceived starvation by slowing its basal metabolic rate. This is why initial weight loss stalls and why most people regain the weight (often more) within a year. For Dallas-area patients who've tried commercial weight loss programs without lasting results, a medically-supervised approach addresses the physiology that diet programs ignore.
The role of hormones and insulin resistance
Weight isn't just a calorie equation. Insulin resistance — increasingly common among patients in the Dallas–Fort Worth area — makes fat storage the body's default mode. Thyroid dysfunction slows metabolism. Cortisol from chronic stress promotes abdominal fat. AymanCare's physician-led evaluation identifies whether these factors are working against your efforts and addresses them directly, rather than asking you to push harder against a physiological disadvantage.
What medical supervision in Dallas adds
AymanCare's medically-supervised weight loss program in Dallas begins with bloodwork, metabolic assessment, and a full health history at our clinic nearest to you — Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, or Valley Ranch in Irving. We identify underlying conditions, prescribe FDA-approved medications when appropriate, and set targets calibrated to your physiology. Regular physician check-ins provide accountability and allow adjustments as your body responds.
Nutrition principles that actually stick
The most effective eating patterns share a few things: adequate protein (which preserves muscle and increases satiety), minimally processed whole foods, and a moderate caloric deficit you can sustain for months. AymanCare's Dallas weight management program doesn't prescribe rigid meal plans — we help you build habits that fit your life, your culture, and your Dallas-area schedule. Consistency beats perfection every time.
Movement without burnout
Exercise is important for weight maintenance and metabolic health — but it's rarely the primary driver of initial weight loss. The most effective strategy is finding movement you'll sustain: walking Dallas's trails, swimming, cycling, or strength training at a moderate intensity. AymanCare physicians work with your current fitness level at any of our four DFW locations. Building gradually leads to lasting change; starting too intense leads to injury.

Understanding your
insurance benefits.
Copays, deductibles, in-network vs. out-of-network — a plain-English guide from the front-desk teams at AymanCare's four Dallas-area clinics, where we accept Medicare, Tricare, and most major insurance.
Premium, deductible, copay — what's the difference
Your premium is what you pay monthly to have insurance, whether or not you use it. Your deductible is what you pay out-of-pocket before insurance starts covering services. A copay is a fixed amount you pay at each visit, regardless of the deductible. Your out-of-pocket maximum is the most you'll pay in a calendar year — after that, your plan covers 100%. Understanding which bucket a charge falls into prevents most billing surprises at any Dallas-area clinic, including AymanCare.
In-network vs. out-of-network — the real cost
In-network providers have a negotiated rate with your insurer — meaning you pay a fraction of the actual cost. Out-of-network providers bill at their full rate, and your plan may cover far less or nothing. AymanCare is in-network with Medicare, Tricare, Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, UnitedHealth, and Humana at all four DFW locations — serving patients in Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch.
Preventive care — what's usually free in Dallas
Under the Affordable Care Act, most insurance plans must cover preventive services at no cost — even before you've met your deductible. At AymanCare clinics in Dallas TX, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Irving, this includes annual wellness exams, blood pressure and cholesterol screening, age-appropriate cancer screenings, and recommended vaccinations. Knowing what's covered at zero cost removes a major barrier to the care that prevents bigger problems later.
How to read your Explanation of Benefits
Your EOB (Explanation of Benefits) is what your insurance sends after a claim is processed — it's not a bill. It shows what was billed, what your insurer paid, and what you owe. The key column is "patient responsibility." If that number doesn't match your bill from AymanCare or any other Dallas-area provider, contact both your insurer and the provider before paying. Billing errors are common and correctable.
Questions to ask before your Dallas visit
A few questions prevent most billing surprises: Is AymanCare in my network? Is this service covered under my plan? Will this be billed as preventive or diagnostic? (Preventive is often free; diagnostic counts toward your deductible.) Our front-desk teams at all four Dallas–Fort Worth locations can verify your coverage before your appointment — just call the clinic nearest to you in Dallas, NRH, Mesquite, or Valley Ranch.

ER vs. urgent care:
how to decide.
Not everything needs an emergency room. AymanCare's walk-in urgent care clinics in Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Irving offer board-certified care faster and at a fraction of the cost.
Go to the ER (or call 911) for these
Some situations require emergency care regardless of location in DFW: chest pain or pressure, difficulty breathing, sudden severe headache unlike any you've had, signs of stroke (facial drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech), severe allergic reaction with throat swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, suspected fractures with deformity, loss of consciousness, or any symptom that feels life-threatening. When in doubt about any of these, go to the ER — speed matters more than cost.
Dallas urgent care handles these well
Urgent care in Dallas is designed for conditions that need prompt attention but aren't life-threatening: flu, fever, sore throat, ear infections, UTIs, minor cuts requiring stitches, sprains, minor fractures, skin infections, eye infections, COVID-19 and flu testing, and most acute illnesses. AymanCare's walk-in urgent care clinics in Dallas TX, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch handle all of these — faster and far less expensively than the ER.
The cost difference in Dallas is significant
The average ER visit in the Dallas–Fort Worth area costs $1,500–$3,000 or more, not including specialist fees. An urgent care visit at AymanCare typically runs $100–$250. For Dallas-area patients on high-deductible plans — or those without insurance — choosing urgent care over the ER for non-emergency conditions can mean saving thousands of dollars on a single visit.
Wait times at Dallas urgent care vs. the ER
Dallas-area emergency rooms triage patients by severity — a non-emergency visit can mean a 4–6 hour wait, especially during peak flu and allergy season in North Texas. AymanCare's urgent care clinics operate on a first-come, first-served basis with typical wait times of 20–60 minutes across our Dallas, NRH, Mesquite, and Irving locations. Walk-in, no appointment needed.
AymanCare walk-in urgent care — what to expect
All four AymanCare locations in the Dallas–Fort Worth area offer walk-in urgent care with no appointment required: Dallas (N Buckner Blvd near Lake Highlands), North Richland Hills (Mid-Cities), Mesquite (I-30 E), and Valley Ranch in Irving (Las Colinas area). Board-certified physicians on-site, labs available, and prescriptions written at the visit. Evening and weekend hours available — check our locations page for current hours at the clinic nearest to you.

Five habits that
actually prevent illness.
Evidence-based prevention advice from AymanCare's board-certified primary care physicians, serving Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch.
Sleep — 7 to 9 hours is non-negotiable
Sleep is when your immune system repairs and strengthens. Studies consistently show that people who get fewer than 6 hours of sleep are significantly more susceptible to viral infection. Sleep deprivation also raises cortisol, impairs blood sugar regulation, and slows wound healing. No supplement replaces it. If you struggle with sleep quality, mention it at your next visit to AymanCare in Dallas, NRH, Mesquite, or Valley Ranch — it's a medical issue, not a willpower issue.
Hydration — especially critical in Dallas summers
The general target of 8 cups per day is a starting point — but Dallas's summer heat and DFW's high-activity lifestyle mean most adults need considerably more. Adequate hydration maintains mucosal barriers in the nose and throat (your first line of defense against respiratory viruses during North Texas allergy and cold season), supports kidney function, and keeps blood volume stable. If your urine is darker than pale yellow for most of the day, you're likely under-hydrated.
Hand hygiene — still the most effective
Handwashing remains the single most evidence-backed intervention for preventing the spread of respiratory and gastrointestinal illness — something our Dallas-area urgent care physicians see firsthand every cold and flu season. The technique matters: 20 seconds with soap, covering all surfaces including between fingers and under nails. Do it after handling public surfaces, before eating, and after being around someone who is sick.
Regular movement — even modest activity helps
You don't need to be an athlete to get immune benefits from exercise. 30 minutes of moderate activity — a brisk walk, a bike ride, a swim — five days a week improves immune surveillance and reduces chronic inflammation, a contributing factor to nearly every major disease. The Dallas–Fort Worth area offers abundant trails, parks, and recreation facilities. Consistent moderate activity beats sporadic intense exercise. Start where you are and build from there.
Annual check-ups at your Dallas primary care doctor
The best prevention is catching a problem before it becomes a problem — and most serious conditions develop silently. High blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, prediabetes, thyroid dysfunction, and certain cancers have no symptoms in their early stages. Your annual physical at AymanCare in Dallas TX, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, or Valley Ranch is the one intervention that catches all of them at once. It takes an hour. It could make a decade of difference.
Book your check-up —
the best thing you can do.
Most insurance plans cover annual wellness visits at no cost. AymanCare's primary care physicians in Dallas, North Richland Hills, Mesquite, and Valley Ranch (Irving) review your habits, screen for hidden risks, and build a plan with you.
